Ahoy Overlay Set

Ahoy! Shiver me timbers... this overlay set just may be the cutest yet! The entire overlay set was created after having come up with an idea for what I had hoped would be a fun styled session with my two girls. The idea started with just a cardboard box, a giant sharpie marker, a torn striped shirt, an old cardboard roll from a small rug, a crib sized sheet, and some packaging tape... oh and a few toilet paper rolls for a good set of binoculars... :) The overlays took it all to a whole new level. I really think the handmade aspect adds to it, and seriously there is not really any talent needed here. Drawing lines on the box and squigley lines should make it fairly obvious that it is a boat... once you add the waves, they won't leave any doubt.

If you are a photographer and still a little unsure of the versatility this set offers; I would say it is excellent if you photograph children and want to add a little creativity to your sessions. With a few cheap items you can really create something memorable for your clients. Although, when I started working with my photographers' pictures, I was a little surprised just how easy they were to work into other sessions, not necessarily shot with this set in mind. So, they may not be as versatile for a professional photographer as some of the other sets, but they are still so much fun to play around with and add a lighthearted whimsical touch to your sessions. :)

I am also including my custom all time favorite distressing brush free of charge. 

This is the same brush that was used to distress all the waves shown in these images. It is my favorite brush, I use it in my art ALL the time. :)

Why custom shapes as overlays you ask?

Simply because custom shapes work EXCELLENT as overlays. Unlike brushes, custom shapes are vector based. This means you can re-size them without loss of quality. You can also grab a corner and pull it to create different angles as if you were conforming them to fit the angle of a wall, sky etc.

 How will I receive my files?

What versions of photoshop are compatible?

The overlays work in adobe photoshop 7.0 and up. I have also had people manage to load them into earlier versions of elements (version 5 and up) I believe in Elements 5 they are loaded under your "cookie cutters toolbar."
